Research. Plan. Shoot
A guide to choosing the right location, conditions and timing for great landscape photography
You have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit your dream landscape photography location and you want to make the most of it. The last thing you want to do is get home from the trip, start processing your images and think, “Oh, if only I’d realised there was a better foreground just around the corner” or “I should have planned this trip for a different time of year…” You’ll never be able to return, so you can’t afford to mess up. And to be honest, there’s no reason why you should, because with the resources available to modern photographers, it’s possible to do all the necessary research and planning to maximise your chances of success.
